HMTV Asia: 1. Hi guys how are you?
Sexstone: Things are going great. We've been super busy lately getting things together for an upcoming acoustic show at Blackwells Bar and Grill in Madisonville KY.
HMTV Asia: 2. So when did u guys started the band?
Sexstone: The band originally formed in the Spring of 2004 with a slightly different lineup. We reformed in the fall of '07 with the current lineup you see now.
HMTV Asia: 3. They say choosing the name of the band is not very easy who and how did u come up with the band name?
Sexstone: Our drummer, Cornbread and the original lead singer came up with the name. It comes from an old saying... What is a Sexstone? It's a plain old f%$in rock! That's exactly what we play, just plain old f%$in rock!
HMTV Asia: 4. Who and what inspired you when writting your songs?
Sexstone: I'm going to turn these next two questions over to our singer/songwriter Steve-O: The female sex. From birth to death they are responsible for every happy and miserable moment in my life, from my daughter to all of my ex's.
HMTV Asia: 5. Tell us about your music?
Sexstone: The music I write pours straight from my heart. A song is usually written in less than ten minutes. If I have to dwell on it then it isn't genuine. Our songs convey pure emotion, and we aren't satisfied until you can actually feel the song as well as hear it.
HMTV Asia: 6. Who are your current members and how you meet?
Sexstone: Steve Bauer - Vocals / Guitar
Steve Wheeler - Guitar / Backup Vocals
Trent Riley - Bass
Cornbread - Drums
Cornbread, Wheeler, and I have known each other for years and played in a few projects together prior to Sexstone. We actually held auditions for a singer back in the fall and Steve-O just came in and blew us away. We knew right away that he was the one.
HMTV Asia: 7. Any latest news?
Sexstone: We just had a feature in Maelan Magazine along with Our ~Angels~ and R Entertainment. It's a fashion and culture magazine from Pennsylvania. Right now we're just working on new songs and getting things back in order. We've been doing a few acoustic shows lately in our local area just to keep things fresh.
HMTV Asia: 8. Are you working on a new album and how many album have you done in the past?
Sexstone: We plan on going into the studio this summer to record our first full length album. We just put out an acoustic EP titled ~Stripped~. We produced it ourselves along with Jake Lynn a local Hip Hop artist and DJ. You can check out some of the tracks at www. SexstoneRocks. com. We also put out a self titled EP in 2006. It was engineered and co-produced by Dan Olson of Shadowland Studios in Chattanooga TN. You can still hear one of the tracks from that EP right here on our HMTV page.
HMTV Asia: 9. Are you guys going on tour?
Sexstone: Right now we're just doing a few local shows here and there. Once we finish the album, we plan on hitting the road hard. 2008 is going to be a huge year for us.
HMTV Asia: 10. How long have you been an hmtv band and how do u like it?
Sexstone: We've been with HMTV since 2006 and have loved every minute of it. Even though we were absent for about a year, we still managed to gain a lot of fans and exposure through your site. Now we're back and ready to roll!
